taṁ ciya citantīē 'vakkhittamaṇāi āgayāvi tumaṁ
piyasahi! nō saccaviyā tēṇa na sambhāsiyā bhaddē!

While thinking of him alone, with a distracted mind, though you arrived, / dear friend, you were not noticed, and therefore I did not speak to you, noble lady!
