jīvapade jīvapade, jīvāṇaṃ daṃḍagammi uddeso |
cauvīsatimammi sae, cauvvīsaṃ hoṃti uddesā ||

In each state of existence, there is an uddeśaka on the souls in the framework of the twenty-four categories of beings;
in the twenty-fourth śataka, there are twenty-four uddeśakas.
