"Venerable Sir! How many kinds of deities are expounded?"
"Gautama! Four kinds of deities are expounded, namely: Bhavanapatis, Vāṇavyantaras, Jyotiṣkas, and Vaimānikas."
"Venerable Sir! Where are the abodes of the Bhavanapatī deities expounded?"
"Gautama! In this Ratnaprabhā earth... as the exposition of deities is stated in the Chapter on Locations, that is to be recited. By rebirth, in an innumerable part of the cosmos—thus all is to be recited, up to the completion of the section on the liberated souls.
The foundation of the heavens, their thickness, height, and shape—all that is expounded in the Chapter on the Vaimānikas in the Jīvājīvābhigama is to be recited.
