"Oh, the prosperity, splendor, fame, strength, virility, masculine prowess, divine celestial luster, and divine celestial majesty acquired, attained, and fully possessed by the beloved of the gods! That prosperity, splendor, fame, strength, virility, masculine prowess, divine celestial luster, and divine celestial majesty acquired, attained, and fully possessed by the beloved of the gods has indeed been seen! Therefore, forgive [us], O beloved of the gods! May the beloved of the gods forgive! May the beloved of the gods deign to forgive! Never again shall we act in this way!" Having so spoken, with folded hands they fell at his feet and sought refuge with King Bharaha.
Then King Bharaha accepted the foremost, excellent jewels of those Āpāta-Kirātas. Having accepted them, he said to those Āpāta-Kirātas: "Go, good sirs! Protected under the shadow of my arms, dwell in utmost happiness, fearless and untroubled. You have no danger from anywhere." Having so spoken, he honored and treated them with respect. Having honored and treated them with respect, he dismissed them.
Then King Bharaha summoned General Suseṇa. Having summoned him, he spoke thus: "Go, O beloved of the gods! Subdue also the second, western sector of the great river Sindhū, bounded by the Sindhū, the ocean, and the mountain, along with the even and uneven sectors. Having subdued [them], receive the foremost, excellent jewels. Having received [them], report back quickly to me concerning this command."
Then that general, the leader of the army, renowned for fame and endowed with great strength and prowess in the realm of Bharaha—just as the subdual of the southern [realm] was described, all is to be recounted in the same manner, down to: he dwelt experiencing [the royal pleasures].
