duḥkhāghrāta-prādhvatā-manda-netrāḥ
kṛṣṇāṅghri-śrī-lakṣma-labdhāvalokāḥ |
vartmany asmin picchile' py aśrubhis te
rāma-prāpta-nyasta-hastā viceluḥ || [śālinī]

Their eyes dimmed along the path by the scent of grief,
their gaze clinging to the splendid marks of Kṛṣṇa's feet,
they staggered on that pathway, though slippery with tears,
their hands resting on the arm Rāma offered.
