tataś ca-
dṛṣṭi-prasāda-kṛta-sāmabhir aṃśudānaiḥ
śaśvan manoharaṇa-nirmita-buddhi-bhedaiḥ |
arthāntarābhiviniveśaja-bhāva-daṇḍaiḥ
kaiśorakaṃ vaśayati sma hareḥ samastam || [vasantatilakā]
And then—
By means of conciliation effected through the grace of his glances,
by gifts of radiant beams, by splitting minds through constantly stealing them away,
and by punishment in the form of sentiments born of absorption in other matters,
early youth brought everything belonging to Hari under its control.
