śrī-kānte' py atha niṣkrānte viveśāveśato balaḥ |
tad-ālokaḥ sabhya-lokaḥ ślokayāmāsa tad dvayam || [anuṣṭubh]
yady etayor varṇa-bhedaḥ syān naiva śyāma-gaurayoḥ |
tadā na paricīyetām etāvaṅga-guṇādibhiḥ || iti | [anuṣṭubh]

Even when the beloved of Fortune [Kṛṣṇa] exited, Bala entered with absorbed emotion.
Watching them, the people of the assembly recited verses about the two: ||
"If there were no difference in color between these two, dark and fair,
then these two would not be distinguished by their limbs, qualities, and the like!" || thus.
