vṛndāraṇyasya puṇyaṃ vrajitum iha na naḥ śaktir astīti cāstāṃ
yad barhyādyāś ca bhānti pratipada-sukṛta-prodayād asmad-arhyāḥ |
gṛhyāṇāṃ gṛhyakāḥ smaḥ sphuṭam iha tad alaṃ gṛhyakebhyaś ca garhyās
te tasya svairam īkṣāṃ vidadhati na tad-ābhāsam aṇv apy ayāma ||[sragdharā]

Let be the thought that we have no power here to attain the merit of Vṛndāvana,
since peacocks and the like appear worthy of our veneration through the rising of merit at every step;
we are manifestly the lowliest servants of householders here, and so quite contemptible even to servants;
they freely gaze upon him, while we do not attain even the slightest semblance of him. ||50
