āścaryaṃ sakhi kṛṣṇasāra-dayitā-vṛndaṃ milad-bhartṛkaṃ
jātyā mūḍham api vyatītya bhavatīr apy evam īhāṃ dadhe |
śrutvā veṇu-kalaṃ hariṃ prati gatis tad-rūpataś citratā
tasyāpy arcanam ullasat-praṇayatas tatrāpi netrāñcalaiḥ || [śārdūla]

O friend, it is a wonder that the herd of wives of the black buck, accompanied by their mates,
though foolish by birth, surpassing even you, maintained such longing!
Hearing the sweet tone of the flute, their running toward Hari, their amazement at his beauty,
and their worship of him out of radiant affection, and that too with side-glances! ||51
