haṃho paśya jaḍo' pi vārida-cayaḥ sarvopari sthāyy api
cchāyābhiḥ svarasaiś ca taṃ paricaraty antaścara-premataḥ |
kaṣṭaṃ suṣṭhu vayaṃ tad-eka-śaraṇa-prāṇa-sthitiṃ-manyatā-
gaṇyās tasya vinā tu sevanam amūr jīvāma dhig jīvitam || [sragdharā]

O, look! Even the insentient mass of clouds, though standing above all,
serves him with shadows and its own waters out of love moving within;
alas, while we, who consider ourselves to live with our breath depending solely on his shelter,
are counted as living without serving him; shame on our lives! ||60
