āgamiṣyati śarad bhuvi dyavi
svacchatāṃ vidadhatīti cintitam |
hanta tābhir udaye tadīyake
svaṃ dadhe dvi-guṇa-bhāvanāvilam || [rathoddhatā]
"Autumn will come, making everything clear
upon the earth and in the sky," so it was thought.
Alas, at its rising, each of them
