na bhavati bata bahulānām atibahulānāṃ parikramaḥ sadyaḥ |
ity ekasyā vyakteḥ kriyatāṃ yasmād aśeṣagā jātiḥ || [gīti]
tatra pradakṣiṇī-kāryam ekaṃ vṛddhaṃ gavaurasam |
mūlārādhanataḥ sarvārādhanaṃ vibudhair matam || [anuṣṭubh]

‘Alas, a circumambulation of so very many cows cannot be done all at once;
therefore let it be performed for a single individual, because the universal is present in all.’
There, a single aged, prime bull was to be circumambulated;
for worshiping the root is considered by the wise to be worshiping all.
