1.19.18

eṣāṃ ghoṣa-nivāsinām uta bhavān kiṃ devarāteti naś
ceto viśva-phalāt phalaṃ tvad-aparaṃ kutrāpy ayan muhyati |
sad-veṣād iva pūtanāpi sa-kulā tvām eva devāpitā
yad-dhāmārtha-suhṛt-priyātma-tanaya-prāṇāśayās tvat-kṛte ||[10.14.35]

"O Lord, what will you give to these inhabitants of the cowherd station? Pondering this, our / mind is bewildered, finding anywhere no reward other than you, from whom all rewards come! / For even Pūtanā, along with her family, was brought to you merely through her appearance as a virtuous woman— / [while these cowherds] have made their home, wealth, friends, beloveds, selves, sons, life-breaths, and hearts for your sake!"
