tataḥ sakhībhyāṃ sugṛhīta-bāhur
nītāpi madhye-gṛham āyatākṣī |
stambhena bāhyena tathāntareṇa,
kṛtāvalambā cakṛṣe priyeṇa || [upajāti 11]

Then, though led into the inner room by her two companions, her arms firmly grasped,
the large-eyed woman, clinging to an external pillar as well as to her inner paralysis,
was drawn near by her beloved.
