mantrā gītāni vādyāny api ca jaya-ravāḥ kṛṣṇa-śobhās tadīya-
preyo-vargāti-citra-praṇaya-vilasitānīti parvaṇy amuṣmin |
pratyekaṃ tat tad ekībhavanam api tadā prāpa rucyatvam uccaiḥ
śṛṅgārādyo raso vā kavi-kṛtir athavā ṣāḍavo vāpi yadvat || [srāgdharā]

Mantras, songs, musical instruments, and cries of victory, the beauty of Kṛṣṇa, and the exceedingly wondrous, playful displays of affection by his dear companions—on this festive day, / each of these individually, and their coming together as one, attained an extraordinary delightfulness, / just like the aesthetic rasa of erotic love and the rest, or a poet's composition, or a ṣāḍava beverage. ||
