[49] yatra parihāsa-bījaṃ ca pṛthag-dig-deśa-loka-prasiddhānām atraiva cānyathā-siddhānāṃ temanādīnāṃ nāma nāmnātuṃ śakyate, nāmāntareṇa vāmnāyate, sad-āmnāya-janmabhir api bandhu-sambandhibhir ity ādi lakṣaṇaṃ lakṣyate |

And the source of jesting was that the names of soups and sauces, renowned among people of different regions yet prepared differently right here, could not be uttered by their usual name, or were cited by other names, even by relatives and kinsmen born of noble traditions, and other such signs were observed.
