[54] tad evaṃ bahala-hāsa-kolāhala-kutūhale nivṛtte pitaram upetya sarva-sukha-pālaḥ śrīla-gopālaḥ śanaiḥ saniṃ praṇayan sa-vinayam ālalāpa, "arvāg eva sarvān ādāya sabhālaya-valayaṃ svayaṃ tatra-bhavantaḥ samayantu | vayaṃ tu śrī-rāma-dāma-sudāmādayaḥ samāgata-prāyāḥ |" tad evaṃ mātṛ-gṛham upetya tām apy uvāca, "mātar, mātṝṇāṃ sambhālanārtham anuyātṝṇ asmān anumanyasva |"

[54] Thus, when the curiosity of loud laughter and commotion had subsided, Śrīla Gopāla, the protector of all happiness, approached his father, bowed gently with modesty, and said, "May Your Honored Self go ahead, taking everyone along to the circle of the assembly hall. We, along with Śrī Rāma, Dāman, Sudāman, and the others, are just about to arrive." Approaching his mother’s quarters, he said to her as well, "Mother, grant permission to us who follow to look after our mothers [the cows]."
