tat-tad-vṛndaiḥ kṛta-pariveṣaḥ
kṣoṇī-pṛṣṭha-sthita-vidhur eṣaḥ |
kramato dṛṣṭi-bhramaṇābhreṣa-
sthiti-kṛtam akhilān api viśiśeṣa || [mātrāsamaka]
Encircled by those various throngs,
like the moon positioned upon the surface of the earth,
by the unerring sweep of his glance in due succession,
he distinguished every single one. ||
