kṛtyaṃ vā kim akṛtyaṃ vā na vidmo vayam aṇv api |
śikṣārthaṃ kintu vaḥ prāptā vīkṣyājñāsiṣma tat punaḥ || [anuṣṭubh]
[23] atha sarvāḥ salajjaṃ parasparam īkṣitvā punar ūcuḥ-
“Whether it is proper to do or improper to do, we do not know even in the least; / but we have arrived for your instruction, and having seen you, we have come to know that again.” (15)
