nije kāvye sarvaṃ rasa-valanam astiti likhatā
mayā dhārstyāt spaṣṭī-kṛta-mati-rahasyaṃ tu yadīha |
tad etad govinda-vraja-vijana-kāntānucaraṇaṃ
dadhadbhir yogyasya śravasi param arpyaṃ na sadasi || iti | [śikhariṇī]

Writing that in my poem there is the full unfolding of all aesthetic rasa,
if out of audacity the secret of my heart has been made plain here,
then this, depicting the conduct of the beloved women of Vraja in secluded places with Govinda,
should be placed by those who hold it only into the ear of a qualified person, not in a public assembly.
