cāturībhir iha nas tu karṣato
dharma-dhāma diśataḥ samujjhataḥ |
nirdayaṃ punar amuṣya śiṣyate
yena nāsmad-atiduḥkham īkṣyate || [rathoddhatā]

"By clever tricks he draws us here, yet points to the abode of duty while abandoning us;
what remains for him, then, is only to be merciless,
since he does not see our intense grief!" ||
