dṛṣṭvā putram asau vrajeśa-gṛhiṇī sadyaḥ prajātaṃ sakhīr
āhūtā na śaśāka kartum api ced āstāṃ paraṃ ceṣṭitam |
asrair āvṛtam akṣi-kaṇṭham atha yat stabdhaṃ ca tasyā vapus
tasmin lālana-lālasā-vaśatayā cātmātmanā vyagritaḥ ||

Beholding her newly born son, that housewife of the lord of Vraja was not even able / to summon her friends, let alone make any other movement; / for her eyes and throat were covered with tears, her body was stunned, / and she was inwardly agitated, overcome by the longing to fondle Him.
