[35] atha snigdhakaṇṭha uvāca-madhukaṇṭha-kṛta-jagad-utkaṇṭha-śrīman-madhukaṇṭha ! śrīmad-upananda-nandanayos traya eva madhyamā iti ko' yaṃ madhyamaḥ | kīdṛśī vā tasya samañjasateti sodāharaṇam ucyatām |

Then Snigdhakaṇṭha said: "O illustrious Madhukaṇṭha, who have aroused the longing of the world with your sweet voice! Between the venerable Upananda and Nanda there are only three middle brothers; so who is this middle one? Or what kind of propriety does he have? Tell me with an example."
