[94] ṛṣir uvāca-yadu-varga-vādita-gārgyārādhita-bharga-vara-sphurad-upasarga-jani-sargata eva yādava-davaṃ prati bhaya-dava-visarga-nirargale tasmin jarāsandhānusandhānād eva | sa cātrāvaśya-maraṇa-vaśatyām āpsyatīti mat-preraṇāc ca ?

[94] The sage said: “Precisely because of his origin from the affliction born of the boon of Śiva worshipped by Gārgya who was taunted by the Yadus, and because he is completely unhindered in casting the fire of fear against the forest of the Yādavas, it is simply due to following Jarāsandha's scheme. And also because of my instigation, seeing that here he will inevitably fall under the sway of death.”
