vinā māṃ tātaḥ prāg na pibati jalaṃ sā ca jananī
vinā mām ucchvāsān visṛjati batāsūn iva muhuḥ |
yathā tau hā tadvad vrajam anugatā viśva-janatā
tad āstāṃ tiryañco' py ahaha hṛdi śalyaṃ vidadhati ||

“Without me, father first drinks no water, and that mother / without me repeatedly breathes out sighs as if they were her very life-airs! / Alas, just as those two are, so are all the people following [us in] Vraja; / let that be, even the beasts, alas, plant a dart in my heart! //”
