[10] tac cettham uttara-kathā-prathanārtham anusmaryate | aho! yena khalu pūtanā pūtanārī babhūva, śakaṭaḥ sa kaṭaval-laghutayā patanam avāpa, tṛṇāvartas tṛṇāvartavad vighaṭitāṅgatāṃ gatavān, arjuna-yugalaṃ cārjunavat kṛtam anugrahaṃ jagrāha | tatra vatsakas tad vatsakaḥ, bakas tu baka eva | [11] vyomaś ca vyomavad eva bhavituṃ yuktaḥ |

[10] which is now recalled in this way for the expansion of the subsequent story: Ah! He by whom Pūtanā indeed became a purified woman; the cart suffered a fall because of its lightness like a reed-mat; Tṛṇāvarta met with the shattering of his limbs like a whirlwind of grass; and the pair of Arjuna trees received the grace made for them, like Arjuna. There Vatsaka [was conquered as easily as] a mere calf; Baka [as easily as] a crane; [11] and Vyoma, too, was fit to become like empty space [in death].
