dṛg-vīthīṃ kula-pālikāḥ śruti-patham tāsāṃ kathā-nāsikā-
vartmāneka-sugandhi-dhūpa-racanā vavrur mayā yojitāḥ |
tasyāḥ kṛṣṇamayī daśā manasi yā sā kena yatnena vā
gacchedāvṛtatāṃ tato janani kiṃ mahyaṃ vṛthā kupyasi? || iti |

'The line of sight of the family matriarchs has blocked the path of hearing; / arranged by me, the many fragrant incenses have covered the path to the nose with talk of them. / That condition composed of Kṛṣṇa which is in her mind—by what effort / could it be veiled? Therefore, mother, why are you vainly angry with me?' || Thus.
