[49] ito vyavadhānam eva khalu kaluṣatāṃ gatasya mama nidhānaṃ bhavati | tathā hi-
kalaṅko yatra syād apariharaṇīyārtha-kṛtakas
tato dūrād bhāvyaṃ kula-jani-janenaivam ucitam |
sa kālāl luptaḥ syād bhavati hi ca tatra pratividhis
tad asmān me goṣṭhād vyavahitir akaṣṭaṃ prasajati ||

[49] "Distance from here is indeed the sole refuge for Me who have incurred disgrace. For: / Where a stain occurs arising from an unavoidable circumstance, / it is proper that a well-born person should stay far away from it. / With time it may be wiped away, for there is indeed a remedy for it; / therefore My departure from this cowherd settlement brings no distress. ||"
