[46] śrī-kṛṣṇaḥ sa-smitam uvāca-yady anyathā syāt tathāpi vṛthā-patha eva tan manorathaḥ | yad bhavat-prabhāva-bala-saṃhitasya mama kaḥ khalv ahitam āhitaṃ kurvīta | [47] yata eva khalv ābalya-valyamāne bālye'pi mama pūtanādayas te dhūtatām āpannāḥ | kim uta tad-valataḥ eva valitāṃ valamānābhyāṃ baka-vatsaka-mukhānāṃ sukhād eva pratiritsanaṃ jātam iti |

[46] Śrī Kṛṣṇa said with a smile: “Even if it were otherwise, his desire treads a useless path! For who indeed could do harm to me, who am endowed with the power of your majesty? [47] Indeed, because even in my childhood, when infancy was still unfolding, Pūtanā and the others were shaken off; what need to speak of Baka, Vatsaka, and the others, whose opposition was thwarted with utter ease by us two who have grown with that very strength!”
