[39] cāṇūra uvāca,- etad apy apalapitaṃ vṛthā mā kṛthāḥ | yac chrutaṃ viśrutam idam | gopāḥ khalu go-pālanaṃ kurvantaḥ sadāsmākaṃ vidyām abhyasyantīti | tasmād akapaṭatayāsmābhir yuṣmābhir api rājñām ājñā pālanīyā, na tu cālanīyā |

[39] Cāṇūra said: "Do not make this denial in vain either. For this is widely known and heard: cowherds, while tending cows, continually practice our art. Therefore, without deceit, both you and we must obey the king's command, not overturn it."
