so'yaṃ pūtanikām ahan śakaṭakaṃ vyāvartayat taṃ marud-
daityaṃ prārdayad arjuna-dvayam api prārdat tad ity ādikam |
śrīmad-gokula-kelim asya kalayan lokaḥ purā paśyatas
tāṃs tarhy ārdayad adya cārdayati bhoḥ paśyāparān śṛṇvataḥ || (śārdūla)

"This is he who slew Pūtanā; he overturned the cart; he shattered the whirlwind demon;
he brought low the pair of arjuna trees"—remembering such divine play of his in glorious Gokula,
the people who saw it then tormented those [demons], and today, behold, O listeners, it torments others who merely hear of it! ||
