taṃ tathāyāntam ālokya gadām ādāya satvaraḥ |
avaplutya rathāt kṛṣṇaḥ sindhuṃ veleva pratyadhāt || (10.38.1-3) ity ādi |
Seeing him approaching thus, Kṛṣṇa quickly took up his mace,
leaped down from his chariot,
and checked him as the shore checks the ocean.' (10.78.1–3) and so forth.
