harer mātā bhaktaṃ tad-avadhi na bhuṅkte tad-anugās
tathā tasmin gopāḥ prati-muhur upāyātividhurāḥ |
kim anyad vaktavyaṃ vrajam anugataṃ yat paśu-kulaṃ
vanasthaṃ yad vā tan-nikhilam iha śiryad vilapati || iti ||

"Since then, Hari's mother eats no food; likewise, the cowherds who follow him / are overwhelmed at every moment by distress over the remedy. / What more can be said? All the cattle that belonged to Vraja / or dwell in the forest are wasting away here and crying out in grief."
