1.35.52

yavann āśnāsi mātas tvam iti niśamaye hanta nāśnāni tāvad
yady aśnāmīva tarhy apy anubhavad asu me ye'savaḥ śoṣamīyuḥ |
goṣṭhaṃ gacchāni paśyāny api nija-jananīṃ tad-vidhām evam eva
hy udyat tejaḥ-prakāśād ripu-gaṇam acirād ut-sahiṣye vijetum || iti ||

‘“Alas, so long as I hear that you do not eat, O mother, I will not eat;
even if I appear to eat, my life-breaths, having experienced that, would dry up.
Let me go to the cowherd settlement and see my own mother in that very state;
for from the manifestation of rising power, I shall soon be able to conquer the host of foes!”’
