somābhe darśa-rātrāv api nija-rucibhiḥ pūrṇimā-bhrāntitas tvaṃ
mad-viśleṣa-jvarārti-prathi-navama-daśā durvaśāṅgī yad-asīḥ |
tarhi tvām aṅga-kānti-sphurad asita-maṇi-śrī-caya-vyāpta-sarvaḥ
so'haṃ śiśleṣa tat-tad-vinimita-daśayā yatra citraṃ jagastha ||

O Somābhā, even on the night of the new moon, through your own radiance mistaking it for the full moon, / when your limbs lost control in the ninth stage of love-sickness made wide by the fever of separation from me, / then I, whose whole being was pervaded by the splendor of a dark gem flashing from the luster of my limbs, / embraced you with an altered condition matching yours, where you, amazed, stood still! ||
