athātmajaṃ kalayitum āśu gokula-
kṣitīśitā vraja-pura-madhyam āyayau |
gato' ntike pathi patad-aśru-vigrahaḥ
kṣaṇaṃ sthitaḥ svajana-gṛhīta-dor-yugaḥ || [rucirā]

Then, to quickly see his son, the ruler of the land of Gokula
came into the midst of the settlement of Vraja;
coming near, with his body trembling and tears falling along the way,
he stood for a moment, his two arms held by his kinfolk. //
