With coral legs, of bright beauty with planks fashioned of emerald,
bearing in its center a flat coverlet and ropes of red silk,
surrounded by fine cotton-filled mattresses covered in fine silk,
a gently swaying cradle upon which the infant Hari shone forth. //
And there:
A thick cluster of multicolored silk
bound from above and hanging down—
touching it with both hands, cooing,
lying on his back, the dark child laughed again and again. //
