[38] garga uvāca-"bhavanto yadu-bījyatve' pi vaiśyatatījya-mātṛ-vaṃśānvayitayā tad-guru-padavyāgatair eva karma kārayitavyāḥ na tu mayā |"

Garga said: "Although you are of the seed of the Yadus, yet because you belong to a maternal lineage third in rank, of the Vaiśya order, you ought to have your rituals performed only by those who occupy the position of your own family preceptor, and not by me."
