[42] garga uvāca-"bhavatu, bhavad-icchayā yadṛcchayā maṅgalaṃ saṅgamayiṣyate | tataḥ samaya-sammatatvād āpātatas tu nāma-karaṇam eva karavāṇi" iti svasti-vācanādy ācarya provāca tatrāgrajam uddiśya, yathā:
"īryeta praṇayādi-sad-guṇa-gaṇair etaṃ tathā bandhutā
mukhyaṃ lokam aśeṣam eṣa ramayan rāmo, balitvād balaḥ |
kiṃ cāyaṃ bhavad-ādi-śūra-tanayādīnāṃ yadūnāṃ gaṇaṃ
saṅkrakṣyaty ubhayatra bhāva-tulayā svaṃ tena saṅkarṣaṇaḥ || [śārdula]
[42] Garga said: "So be it; by your wish, auspiciousness will be spontaneously united [with them]. Therefore, because of its suitability to the occasion, let me for now perform only the name-giving ceremony." Having thus performed the recitation of auspicious mantras and other rites, he said with reference to the elder brother:
"Because he will be proclaimed as delighting all the foremost kinsmen of the world through his host of virtues such as affection, he is Rāma; and because of his great strength, he is Bala. / Moreover, this child will draw together his own host of Yādavas—the sons of Śūra beginning with you—in both places with an equality of affection; therefore he is Saṅkarṣaṇa."
