yathā-
utkarṇatā-niśamanaṃ nayanābhimukhyaṃ
sva-bhrātṛ-nāmni ca nijāhvaya-bhāṇa-rītiḥ |
tat-tad-viviktim abhi jhaṅkṛti-mādhurī ca
svān atra kṛṣṇa-balayor balavat pupoṣa || [vasantatilakā]

Namely—
listening with perked-up ears, turning their eyes,
the manner of calling out their own names when their brother's name was spoken,
and the sweetness of their murmuring distinguishing each—
all these powerfully nourished their kin regarding Kṛṣṇa and Bala.
