utsarpat-karparāṃśa-vraṇa-janaka-javaḥ śrotra-dṛk-tarja-garja-
dhvānas truṭy-utkuṭheṣu prakaṭa-kaṭa-kaṭeṣv ardhayan vāyur āyuḥ |
goṣṭhaṃ koṣṭhaṃ ca bhindann naṭati bata hahā hanta kiṃ tatra vṛttaṃ
yatrāste nīla-paṅkeruha-dala-tulanā lālitāṅgaḥ sa bālaḥ || [sragdharā]

“With a speed that causes wounds from flying pot-shards, with a roar menacing ears and eyes,
shortening life as the branches break with loud cracking noises,
smashing the settlement and its storehouses, the wind dances! Alas, oh, what has happened there
where that child stays, his limbs tender as the petals of a blue lotus?”
