[58] sutas tu kā khalv apratītir iti ca na vidāñcakāra | [59] kṣaṇataś ca tāṃ gatāṃ nirīkṣya punar āgataḥ sakṣaṇatayā janāya tat-phala-vibhajanāya jananīṃ niyojayāmāsa | [60] mātā cāmandenānandena kṛta-spandena kara-dvandvena tāni vibhajantī tadantīkṛtiṃ nāsasāda | dina-katipayaṃ vismaya-vaśā smayamānā vasati sma | tad-āsvāda-karāś ca labdha-camatkārā na vismaranti sma |

[58] But the son did not even understand what mistrust meant. [59] Seeing her leave a moment later, he returned and, being festive at heart, engaged his mother in distributing those fruits to the people. [60] And the mother, distributing them with hands trembling with unbounded joy, could not reach the end of them. For several days she lived in astonishment and wonder; and those who tasted them were filled with marvel and could not forget them.
