1.8.52

tvayy udbhaṭaṃ pradravantyām aṅghryāḥ kaṭaka-ghaṭṭanāt |
asphuṭad dadhi-maṇḍasya ghaṭaḥ, kā mama dhṛṣṭatā? || [anuṣṭubh]
kīśo' yam īśa-nirdiṣṭaḥ praviṣṭaḥ sadma muṣṭaye |
kṛṣṭaḥ sarpiḥ-parāmṛṣṭo mayā, kā mama duṣṭatā? || [anuṣṭubh]
tathāpi tvām ātta-yaṣṭiṃ dṛṣṭvā dudrava coravat |
tvaṃ punar māṃ vṛthā bhītam api dudrotha nirdayam || [anuṣṭubh]

"While you were running vehemently, from the impact of your anklet
the pot of curd-cream burst; what insolence is mine?" ||
"This monkey, directed by the Lord, entered the house for a fistful;
he was seized by me as he stroked the ghee; what wickedness is mine?" ||
"Even so, seeing you with a stick taken up, I ran like a thief;
yet you mercilessly chased after me, though I was frightened in vain!" ||
