[31] tad etad dūragatayā tayā nāvadhāryate sma, kintu parāḥ pāramparyeṇāvadhārya kṛtopālambha-caryāḥ kāścin nikaṭa-nikāyyā nāryaḥ parivārya militāḥ | sva-vācam iha smārayitum aikāgārikaḥ so' yaṃ bhavad-agāre' pi kāṃ kārim akārṣīt iti sūcayantya iva saha jahasuś ca |

Since she had gone far away, she did not hear this; but other women from nearby houses, having heard it sequentially and making their reproachful way, gathered round. As if hinting, to remind them of their own words, "What deed did this master of the house perform in your house as well?", they laughed together.
