go-purasya puraḥ kṛtvā govardhana-dharādharam |
gopa-vāsaḥ sa tatrāsīn nagopa-vasatir yataḥ || [anuṣṭubh]
paurastya-vastya-tyāge' pi tat-tan-maryādayācitaḥ |
vrajākāras tathaivāsīt kṛṣṇāpāre yathā sthitaḥ || [anuṣṭubh]

Placing the Govardhana mountain in front of the gate, / the cowherds' settlement was established there, for it was not a dwelling on the mountain.
Even though they abandoned their eastern home, arranged with various boundaries, / the configuration of Vraja remained just as it was when situated on the other side of the Yamunā.
