"Just as you are dark outside, O Kṛṣṇa, your mind must surely be darker still;
otherwise, how could you deceive a woman devoted to you and tormented by the fever of love's arrows?
Alas, Hari! Go, Mādhava! Go, Keśava! Do not utter deceitful words!
Follow her, O lotus-eyed one, who takes away your grief!
