sampaśyatām iti śivena vitāyamānaṃ lakṣmīvataḥ kṣitipates tanayasya vīryam
aṅgāny abhinnam api tattvavidāṃ munīnāṃ romāñcam añcitataraṃ bibharāmbabhūvuḥ //
As they beheld the prowess of the illustrious king's son thus unfolding before Śiva, / the limbs of the sages, who knew the truth, bore an even higher bristling of hair, though they were unpierced.
