hṛtapriyādṛṣṭivilāsavibhramā mano 'sya jahruḥ śapharīvivṛttayaḥ //
The darting turns of the śaphari fish captivated his mind, / as if he were being watched by waters bewildered with wonder, / their lotus-eyes opened wide, / robbing the coquettish charm of his beloved’s gaze.
