7.36

ākīrṇaṃ balarajasā ghanāruṇena prakṣobhaiḥ sapadi taraṅgitaṃ taṭeṣu
mātaṅgonmathitasarojareṇupiṅgaṃ māñjiṣṭhaṃ vasanam ivāmbu nirbabhāse //

Overspread with the army's dust, thick and reddish,
rippled on the banks by their sudden plunges,
tawny with the lotus pollen churned up by the elephants,
the water shone like a red-madder robe.
