preritaḥ śaśadhareṇa karaughaḥ saṃhatāny api nunoda tamāṃsi
kṣīrasindhur iva mandarabhinnaḥ kānanāny aviraloccatarūṇi //
The flood of beams sent forth by the moon dispelled darkness, however dense,
just as the Ocean of Milk churned by Mandara [dispelled] dense, lofty forests of trees.
